Here is a quote from a post by brother Mujahid Abdullah at Sunni Forum in the thread that was linked earlier.
We hope to return to the tremendous insight offered in this piece by Shaikh Abdullah.
We hope to return to the tremendous insight offered in this piece by Shaikh Abdullah.
I treated a few people with Schizophrenia, and only one was successful. The others failed because they abandoned their treatment, or went back to the meds, or began to use narcotics. Treating these people took a great toll on me physically, mentally, and spiritually. The treatment took up to year for these people and many of them had a very limited understanding of our deen.
All the prescriptions I administered were given out by the Khalifas and they were all different, due to the different circumstances of each case. Meds and drug use have a tendency to make a person harder or even impossible to cure.
Other factors also came into play such as the persons adherence to the sharia, listening to western music, and even ones Aqeedah.
