He is a senior Alig. He was hear from 1958 to 1961. He visited the Physics Department today on December 12, 2011 to support the proposal put forward by Dr Sultana Nurun Nahar for the institution of an annual award in her own name for two bright students of the Physics Department. Latter is Senior Research Scientist at the Department of Astronomy, Ohio State University, originally belonging from Bangladesh. It is touching how people from different corners of the globe have emotional attachment and bondage with your Alma Mater AMU - even if they have not studied here. In deed Aligarh Movement is not merely a movement for social, cultural and economic uplift of Muslims of Indian subcontinent but of Muslim Ummah as a whole. Dr Sultana also came with many books that she intend to present to the library of the Physics Department. It is rather overwhelming to know that people, sitting in the United States, are spending so much time in thinking about you. May Allah(SWT) reward them according to His own Glory and make it a means of blessings in the forward movement of what AMU stands for. Kamal Sahab also narrated a story about late Professor P.S.Gill (1,2). He was staying in the US with his daughter. He came to know that there is an Aligarh Alumni Association in that city. He continually searched for them and finally managed to contact Kamal Sahab. In first conversation he said Kamal Sahab why did you not contact me for so long? Kamal Sahab replied that he did not know that Professor Gill was there. "Oh that was your problem," said Dr Gill. What a bondage of love and what a blessing it is to be an Alig. May Allah(SWT) save this movement from evil glances. In a brief meeting Kamal Sahab was all loquacious about future of Physics Department in particular and Aligarh Movement in general.
