There will not be as many people crying over his death as there were for Steve Jobs. But Dennis Ritchie was one significant contributors in the history of computers software. He created UNIX. Those who have lived in C-era, era of C language, can not forget the lovely book Kernighan and Ritchie. In a sense one can feel more affection for Ritchie for he was a person whom you were sharing with lots of people but not the whole world.
