Raag Darbari (Royal Melody) was the title of a Hindi novel by Shrilal Shukla.
It was an all round criticism of all those things that were wrong with Indian society.
Of course the things kept going from bad to worse.
And Shukla did not propose any remedy.
But this was an original Indian book.
For a book that came in late sixties of twentieth century (of course he wrote other influential things) his Gyanpith in 2009 was rather delayed but he did eventually get it.
Today Shrilal Shukla is no more.
Every one has to leave this perishable world one day.
