Lost His Son In UK Riots
Verily we are for our Lord and unto Him is our return.
Listen to the pain of a father who tried to revive his son who was a victim of hit and run in current UK riots.

Balance Americana
An assault only witnessed by Americans or their allies, an assault in which only the perpetrator was nearly mortally killed and nothing happened to the victims-absolutely nothing, can bring you a punishment of 86 years in prison. All feasible and implemented by Justice Americana.
Then there are Americans. Americans who killed Afghans for sport. Just for the heck of it. And they also collected souvenirs-photographs with the dead, fingers of the dead. What is the punishment for that? Three years. It is here.
Of course similar behaviour with American dead brings out a very different reaction. How are these soldiers different from Ed Gein whom Americans rightly dread? Is non-American life worthless? The events are too horrific to give the links for.

More on Somalia
Does it really take mass death to arose our action? USAID saw warnings of on-coming famine as early as August 2010. “In areas where limited humanitarian assistance is expected (i.e. south and central Somalia), pastoral households are likely to become extremely food insecure.” More here.
PodCast via Owen Barder on the famine in Somalia, senior fellow at the Center for Global Development.
Charles Kenny calls the famine a crime, and blames local government and al Shabab; recalling Amartya Sen who argued that famine does not occur in a democracy or in a place wherein there is a relatively free press.
Whereas Thomas Mountain, the controversial Eritrean government supporter, blames the World Food Program for destabilizing food security in the region.
Obviously diverse opinions being shared on the issues, wisely take points from each inshaAllah.
Islam and Psychology
There is enormous finger pointing at Islam and Muslims for their lack of scientific prowess in modern times.
Who, anyway, cares about past glory, scientific, military or economic.
But because of the character of Islam in one field we should still be the leaders-only if we could just be aware of the opportunity. This is psychology.
Here is one blog that talks about the relevant things in this matter.

Portrait of Muslim as a Hero
It is very strange. The society that takes law and order as sacrosanct and non-negotiable stands mute witness to carnage. We are talking of August 2011 UK riots.
And in this chaos the real character of Muslims is appearing. See this thread at Sunni Forum.
And all Praise is due to Allah Most High.

Making Short of Time
Shaikh Mohammed Nadir al-Arkani al-Makki (RA) was encircled by divine Mercy in the second week of July, 2011. He was 135. He got his Hadith Permission from Shah Fadlur Rahman Ganjmuradabadi (RA). Latter too passed away in the similar age. Combined together they cover an era. You reach directly Shah Abdul Aziz (RA) son of Shah Waliullah (RA). Suddenly you feel so close to Shah Waliulah Sahab (RA)!

Doesn't Know Surah Ikhlas
Rehman Malik is for Pakistan what we in India would call the Home Minister.
A Home Minister should know about the affairs of his home-in this context his country's internal matters.
He does not know them. He thinks fancy things about Tablighi Jama-'at Markaz in that country located in Raiwind. How shameful. Only worst enemies have that mentality. Even Islamophobes do not go that far about Jama-'at.
And yes it is the same person who does not know Surah Ikhlas. See here.
No wonder he landed in trouble.

India Today Some Body Some Body
India Today with or without some body has compiled the annual boring list of the best colleges in various disciplines. Your Medical College (JNMC combined with Sir Ziauddin Dental College) has got 22nd rank.
(Sorry we'll not increase their importance by giving the link.)
Not honoured.
Not insulted.

Deja Vu in Deja Vu
Some times when you see an event you get the feeling that you have seen it earlier. As if it is a repetition of some old scene. This is called deja vu in French.
The most common occurrence of deja vu for a Muslim is when they are told that women have broken some male barrier. Do you get this news every week? Most probably yes. Or may be several times a day.
So the deja vu of the forenoon is here. ( They ogle, they goggle and they go to hell. Sorry for the forthrightness.)

Syed Ahsan Kirmani Sahab
Ahsan Sahab was in university administration and has retired couple of years back. He is senior Jama-'at worker and after retirement divides his time between Nizamuddin Markaz and Aligarh. This sinner got him today for pillion riding. This was good opportunity to get him talking about Markaz experience. "So tell me some events from Nizamuddin." "I'll tell you a karguzari (working report) from America. Maulana Laad Sahab was in Canada in Jama-'at. Eight thousand people from twelve different countries gathered there. And then there was constitution (tashkeel) of four hundred and thirty Jama-'ats for forty nights." Awesome.

Feeling Sad for America
When a mammoth falls it is a sad occasion.
Even if the mammoth is a duplicitous country (think of American Israeli Policy).
Try to make your journey with Aijaz Zaka Syed.
Very revealing observations.
And we do not get to hear them from the objective, academic, non-emotional, profound and hard working western journalists.

Behaving Responsibly
An Islamophobic lunatic orchestrated two deadly attacks called 2011 Norway Attacks.
The sagacious, dispassionate and objective west blamed-you know whom.
And then the truth came out.
But should not Muslims behave responsibly?
In London's East End an overzealous brother did his bit to restore normalcy.
In his own way. By declaring that area Shariah Controlled Zone.
What about, to begin with, controlling your own life according to Shariah?

Down But Not Out
NATO Helicopter Down, Dozens Killed
You see there is no number of killed people. Very honest American reporters feeding news to very intelligent American citizen.
And they are not out of Afghanistan-though they have been threatening to do so for eons.
May be they are waiting for getting their elite forces to be consumed. By the war.
A fitting end to a treacherous enterprise.

Down and Down
When you are downgraded from AAA to AA+ what will you do?
Of course shoot the messenger.
Standard and Poor have warned that that further downgrading is not ruled out.
US business has bad news and it has worse news.

Meaning of Protests
Isabel Kershner reports on August 6, 2011 in New York Times from Jerusalem:
At least 250,000 Israelis took to the streets on Saturday night to demonstrate against the high cost of living and lack of affordable housing, the largest in three weeks of protests aimed at forcing social and economic issues onto the government’s agenda. Not surprising. If the doles dry what else you expect?
